Mennonite Woman’s Ice Cream Pails Full of Cash Completely Unaffected By Banking Crisis

LINDEN, AB

Unlike a significant number of her contemporaries, Mrs. Broesky of Linden, Alberta was completely unconcerned this week about the banking crisis south of the border.

“Oba, I was getting messages on the WhatsApp saying ‘oba, Mrs. Broesky, get your money out of the banks and such,'” explained Broesky. “But I just said, ‘oba, Mrs. Plett, I’m already one step ahead of you.'”

Broesky has been hiding all her money is gently used plastic containers, and says there was no run on her ice cream pails.

“Everything’s safe and sound here at the Broesky Credit Union, as I like to call my pails,” said Broesky. “The only risk is my Peter sometimes sneaks a fiver to go for root beer at the A&W with his buddies.”

Broesky says she has no plans to put her money into a bank anytime soon, as she’s heard the big banks are so impersonal that they don’t even rinse their pails.
