Ryan Gosling Nabs ‘Best Director’ Nomination for Playing Ken in ‘Barbie’

HOLLYWOOD, CA

The Oscar nominations are out and leading the way this year was the runaway smash hit ‘Barbie’ which, apparently, was written, produced, and directed by Ryan Gosling.

“As far as we can tell, that ‘Barbie’ movie was really a one-man show,” said Oscar voter Gary Funk. “I’m just glad that the guy who played Ken will finally be rewarded for his tremendous writing, directing, and production skills.”

Gosling has also been nominated for Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design, and Best Original Score for his role as Ken.

“It’s nice to see,” said Funk. “That man worked so hard on that film, so it’s about time he was acknowledged. But, just remember that making a movie is a team effort, so let’s not forget the hundreds of other men who worked tirelessly to get this film made.”

‘Barbie’ is also up for the top prize of Best Picture, where it will go up against front-runner and summer rival ‘Oppenheimer’.

“It’s going to be an epic battle and it’s too early to say who will come out on top,” said Funk. “May the best man win!”
