Winnipegers Rush to Get their Hands on the Cheapest Nosebleed Seats

WINNIPEG, MB

Moments after tickets for the upcoming Heintje concert went on sale at the Canada Life Centre, all the worst seats were gone.

“You’ve got to be quick on the draw if you want to get your hands on those nosebleeds,” said Dave Hiebert of North Kildonan. “I was logged into Ticketmaster right at 10 o’clock, but there were 1000 Winnipegers in front of me who just had quicker reflexes, I guess.”

Hiebert had to settle for the seats in the second worst section, which were a little out of his intended price range, but at least they had an obstructed view.

“That saved me a couple bucks,” said Hiebert. “I’m really jealous of all those folks way up there in the 300 level. It’ll be a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see Heintje from that distance, so I think it’s worth it.”

Hiebert says he doesn’t want to gloat, but says he kind of pities his cousins who had to settle for front row seats.

“Not everyone can get their hands on the prime seats that I did,” said Hiebert. “But I’m sure they’ll have a good time despite being so close.”

Limited seating in the first few rows is still available, though those, too, were all snatched up when word got out that Heischraitja & Willa Honich were announced as the opening act.
