Local Couple Plasters their Refrigerator with Christmas Cards from Politicians

STEINBACH, MB

Local couple Pete and Anne Dueck have plastered their refrigerator with their most precious holiday items – Christmas cards from area politicians.

“Ahhh, Ted, you shouldn’t have,” said Pete, scrambling to find a fridge magnet. “It warms the cockles of my heart to have his smiling face on my Frigidaire.”

The Dueck’s fridge is absolutely covered with pictures of the local MP, MLA, a few realtors, plus a reeve who accidentally sent a few Christmas cards to the wrong address.

“It just isn’t Christmas until I get a greeting card from local representative,” said Dueck. “We even take down some pictures of the grandkids to make room.”

The Duecks are apparently also really appreciative of the million dollars they won from Publisher Clearing House this week and the free trip to the Bahamas they signed up for with that friendly chap who called them out of the blue the other day.

“We’re really on a roll,” said Dueck. “I’m sure it’s not everyone in our jurisdiction who gets a Christmas card straight from the MP’s office.”
