Wab Kinew Accidentally Sets Manitoba on Permanent Summer

WINNIPEG, MB

A clerical error at the Legislative building in Winnipeg has meant that Manitoba has been permanently set to mid-September temperatures.

“Ever since Wab Kinew brought in Permanent Daylight Savings the temperatures have been soaring,” said Anne Froese of North Kildonan. “I don’t mind him messing with the climate, just as long as he doesn’t set the clock to Permanent January.”

Kinew admits his original intention was just to stop the time change, but says he doesn’t mind that we’ll no longer be changing seasons as well.

“What can I say?” said Premier Kinew. “I’m always trying to improve things around here.”

Things are so balmy in southern Manitoba that thousands of Manitobans who moved to Abbotsford over the decades are now moving back and not just because of the more affordable housing.

“Just look at my zinnias,” said Froese, showing off her Winnipeg garden. “And my cherry trees? Just lovely.”

Froese is already making plans to set up a stand in the Fraser Valley next summer featuring real Manitoba fruit.
