Mennonite Woman Fired from Volunteer Job that Doesn’t Pay Anything

SCHANZHIMMEL, SK

Area woman Ruth Kehler, 76, has been fired from her job that doesn’t pay anything for apparently talking too much when she should have been ripping up denim jeans.

“If you’re going to work for free at this job, you have to be committed,” said thrift store manager Art Bartel. “We can’t be having people working here without pay if they’re going to just sit and spezea the whole time.”

Bartel claims that working without pay is a privilege and that people like Mrs. Kehler should just think of all the unfortunate people around the world who don’t even have volunteer jobs that don’t pay them anything.

“I’m afraid we’re going to have to let you go,” said Bartel. “Consider this your two-week notice.”

Kehler immediately fired back at her supposed boss, saying she could easily find plenty of other places to work for nothing.

“You can’t fire me from this no-pay job!” said Kehler, tossing her denim patches in the air. “I quit!”

The local thrift store is now looking to fill the position of working for no pay at all. Resumes can be dropped off at the Schanzhimmel Second Hand Love Store from 2 to 4 on Mondays. Applicants are expected to have at least 10 years of previous working without pay experience.
