Rumours about a Winnipeg Jets Stanley Cup victory have been spreading this weekend after pedestrians were spotted crossing Portage and Main for the first time since the mid-70s.
“People above ground at Portage and Main? Did the Jets win the Cup or something,” said Mr. Barkman, as he waited for the light to change. “You’d have thought I would have heard about it, but I guess not.”
After finding out about the Jets’ victory, Barkman honked his horn in support as he passed through the intersection.
“One woman gave me the finger,” said Mr. Barkman. “That’s no way to show your support for the Jets!”
The victory was so significant that pedestrians will apparently be going out to Portage and Main to celebrate every day now for the foreseeable future.
