Producers of the hit TV romance Heated Rivalry have already announced a change for season two–rather than a romance between two hockey players, the next season will feature two of Manitoba’s top knipsers.
“One from both sides of the Red River,” said showrunner Dave Baerg. “I can’t think of a more heated rivalry than that.”
While Mr. Unrau from Winkler and Mr. Kroeker from Steinbach are initially at odds, they eventually discover they have more in common than just the uncanny ability to bank a knipser off an opponent’s piece right into the centre hole.
“One calls the game knipsdesh; the other calls it knispbrat. It’s a seemingly irreparable division,” said Baerg. “But even though they’re separated by a river and snow-covered highways, they find a bond on the crokinole pitch.”
If things go well, the team is also thinking of doing a Dutch Blitz season in year 3.
