“If there’s one thing Steinbach lacks, it’s pizza restaurants,” said local man Mr. Bueckert. “I mean, if I want to order pizza I need at least thirty or forty options rather than the meagre 20 or so we have now.”
In response to the persistent cries for more pizza, more or less every restaurant in Steinbach is switching over their menu to make pizzas of varying degree of quality.
“Thank goodness someone was addressing this problem,” said Mr. Bueckert. “Now if only we could have more options for buying fried chicken.”
The recently vacated Uncle Jake’s spot at the mall already has dozens of local entreprenuers clamouring to put a pizza joint in there.
“I always thought Mennonites were into vereniki and schmaunt fat but the evidence would suggest they’re much more into pizza,” said Mr. Bueckert.
