Massive Stockpile of Silver Medals Discovered at Local Thrift Store

MILAN, ITALY

It didn’t take long and about fifty silver medals belonging to the Canadian men’s and women’s hockey teams have been discovered at the thrift store in Schanzenfeld, Manitoba.

“Yeah, we’ll put them on the shelves, but I’m not sure who’ll take them,” said store manager Susie Plett. “We’ve had Mrs. Loewen’s collection of souvenir teaspoons for decades now with no takers, so I can’t imagine anyone going for these useless silver medals.”

The silver medals were junked soon after being awarded.

“It wasn’t shown on camera, but they were all tossed in a plastic garbage bag and transported to Schanzenfeld immediately,” said Team Canada captain Marie-Philip Poulin. “The men’s stash arrived on the very next flight.”

Meanwhile bronze medals in women’s curling were also discovered in the “Something Special” case at the MCC.
