ZURICH, SWITZERLAND
Area man Dave Kehler immensely enjoyed his time at the Anabaptism 500 celebrations in Zurich this week, but the pleasant festivities contrasted with the rather unfriendly greeting he received on his arrival back home.
“The border guards were looking for sausage and what not, but once I got to the baggage claim there was another check – from the church,” said Kehler. “They looked through all my bags and found a couple souvenirs.”
Among the confiscated souvenirs was a Swiss Army knife.
“Not only is it a knife, but an army one yet? Oba nay,” said Mr. Klassen, head of the EMBGC Traveller Scrutinizing Committee. “It’s a good thing we found this weapon before Mr. Kehler tried to open a bottle with it or something.”
Other items confiscated by Mr. Klassen included a set of fondue skewers, which was also thought of as a weapon, a block of Swiss cheese, which was deemed too holey, and some Swiss chocolate, which was thought of as sinfully decadent.
