Australian Pastor Apologizes, Says He Shouldn’t Have Preached Hourlong Sermon with Diarrhea

BAULKHAM HILLS, AUSTRALIA

Pastor Dave of Waters of Blessing megachurch in New South Wales, Australia is apologizing to the congregation, and the choir behind him, after preaching an hourlong sermon while suffering from a particularly potent case of diarrhea.

“I thought I could make it,” said Pastor Dave. “I guess I just thought my sermon was more important than some tummy troubles. But the evidence would suggest I misjudged the situation completely.”

Embarrassing photographs of the incident flooded social media, which caused an international media frenzy.

“They say any publicity is good publicity, but I’m not so sure about that anymore,” said Dave. “Next time I think I’ll just sit it out and get the associate pastor to fill in for me.”

Regular attendees at Waters of Blessing say they weren’t actually all that shocked, as this was far from the first time that something less-than-desirable had emanated from behind the pulpit.
