Wab Kinew Returns to Steinbach to Mow the Boulevards

STEINBACH, MB

In what just might be the most heated conflict the City of Steinbach has ever had with the Province of Manitoba, a grassy boulevard on Brandt Street remained totally unmowed for several weeks this year, until the Premier himself stepped in to remedy the situation.

“I was here in Steinbach the other day. Beautiful city. Great people. But something’s gotta be done about those boulevards,” said Kinew. “I don’t care if it costs 2, 3, or even 4 hundred dollars to keep this boulevard mowed. It needs to be done.”

In an act of solitary with suffering Steinbachers who had to mow their own boulevards for most of this year, Kinew was spotted in Steinbach for the second time in as many days, this time heaving on the pull start of a lawnmower.

“Heck, I might come out here every weekend to keep these things in tip top shape,” said Kinew. “Who else is gonna do it? Michael Zwaagstra?”

Meanwhile, Steinbach mayor Earl Funk is grateful for the Premier’s efforts and says he plays to return the favour by picking weeds at the Legislative building all next summer.
