Spring Arrives in Manitoba

INWOOD, MB

Manitobans across the province were excited to welcome the arrival of spring this week.

“Ahh, such a beautiful Manitoba spring,” said Mrs. Pankratz of Inwood as she slid on her Sorrels and slush pants. “Time to get out the snowshoes and hot chocolate.”

Manitobans rushed to get outside so they could enjoy this lovely spring weather.

“Sledding, snowmobiling, crokicurl – I just love all these Manitoba springtime activities,” said Mrs. Pankratz. “Best of all is when me and my Earl curl up by a nice spring fire and sing Stille Nacht.”

Earl is eagerly awaiting the New Year’s Cookies and that big turkey dinner Mrs. Pankratz cooks every spring.

“People say us farmers aren’t that busy in spring, but there’s actually a lot of work to do,” said Earl. “The down time here in spring really gives us some time to get the tractors in tip top shape.”

Meanwhile, Mrs. Pankratz’s cousin Doris in Abbotsford is already watering her petunias.
