BIRD’S HILL PARK, MB
If you’re looking for tickets to the annual Vanapag Falk Festival, you are out of luck as the Falk Fest announced they were all sold out for the weekend.
“Oba, Ruth, would you look at that. We can’t even go to Falk Fast this year,” said Abe Falk of Riverton. “I guess we’ll have to do the Reimer Fast or Funk Fast instead.”
More than 80,000 Falk Festers plan to descend on Bird’s Hill Park this week to witness such acts as Billy Brandt, Lucy Dueck, and Opa Johan Misty.
“But I was really looking forward to seeing Angine de Warkentin,” said Falk. “We were going to be sipping Yerba mate all weekend long. But I guess we won’t be missing church this Sunday after all.”
Weather is looking good for the Falk Fest, though not everyone was able to secure a spot in the overnight sod hut section.
“It’s too loud there anyways,” said Falk. “All that hymn singing and circle games all hours of the night.”
Provencher MP Ted Falk will be signing autographs just outside the Big Bluestem Stage starting at 2:35 on Saturday.
