Mennonites across Kansas were stirred into a frenzy this week after they heard that speeches were now free.
“Even the thrift store doesn’t have free speech like this,” said Mr. Janzen. “I’ve never seen such a bargain on speech before.”
Janzen admitted that he wasn’t that into speech before, but now that’s it free, it’s piqued his interest.
“I know about sermons, but speeches? Not so much. But since they’re giving them away for free, I guess I’ll give it as try,” said Janzen. “Kind of like my relationship with the butter chicken at last month’s potluck.”
Church authorities were initially supportive, but then clarified that this free speech stuff had to be kept out 100 yards away from the church building at all times.
