There have been a lot of changes at 300 Portage Avenue this week after the signing of Jonathan Toews.
“I haven’t been this excited about the Vanapag Jats since Patrik Laine grew that Holdeman beard,” said Carol Bergman of Steinbach. “I’ve already quilted number 19 into my Vanapag Jats jersey.”
Mennonites were lined up outside the arena to get their hands on those Toews jerseys.
“To be honest, I’m just here because I thought they were reopening Eatons em tjalla,” said Mr. Fehr. “Oba, these Jats jerseys are the priciest item I ever bought in the basement at Eatons.”
The Jats have been the talk of the town and are expected to be a hot topic in the Steinbach MB lobby this Sunday.
“We’re holding a special Vanapag Jats faspa with zucker schtecka and twieback,” said Bergman. “This will be followed by a German sangerfest and floor hockey tournament in the basement.”
