Presents from Santa Delayed Until March this Year

KITCHENER, ON

Millions of Canadians have resorted to deceiving their children this Christmas. And not in the usual way like telling them that Santa exists. This year, parents have had to turn back the calendars an extra four months to ensure the presents arrive on time.

“Oh, did I say it was just about Christmas?” said mother-of-four Angie Eby, flipping back the calendar. “What I actually meant was it’s the middle of July. Can’t you tell?”

The kid seemed confused at first, but were happy to be back on summer holidays.

“Umm, well actually you still do need to go to school,” said Eby. “Don’t blame me. That’s just another change they made. It’s out of my control.”

Mrs. Eby is hoping the gifts she ordered arrive by March, but if not she’ll just have to keep fooling the kids.

“Hey we’ve been lying to them about Santa all these years. Another lie or two won’t hurt them.”

The calendars will miraculously return to normal just as soon at this whole strike thing is over.
