Mennonite Teens Keep Yelling “606” in Sunday School

WATERLOO, ON

It’s perhaps the most annoying trend to hit Sunday school this year, as Mennonite middle schoolers keep yelling “SIX-oh-six” at every opportunity.

“There I am trying to tell them about the loaves and fishes and I can’t even get through the story,” said Waterloo Mennonite Sunday school teacher Amy Martin. “How many fishes do you think there were? Well 6-oh-6, of course.”

Martin even skipped reading chapter 6 verse 06 just so Bradley wouldn’t have yet another opportunity to yell 606.

“I don’t even know what it means,” said Martin. “I’ve been assured it’s not offensive but why they’re saying it and why they find it funny, I have no idea.”

Rumour has it Hymn 606 was moved to page 70 precisely to avoid this new trend.

“We’re also not singing any verses after number 5,” said Martin. “I mean people are usually tired of the song by then anyway.”

Any teen caught yelling 606 in Sunday school this week will be asked to stay after church and help clean out the senior’s foot washing bowl.
