La Crete, Alberta’s country superstars High Valley are currently travelling across Canada performing exclusively for various Rempels.
“Every time I walk out onto the stage and look out into audience, all I see are frintschoft,” said lead singer Brad Rempel. “It’s just Rempels as far as the eye can see.”
The first three rows at High Valley’s upcoming Winnipeg show, for instance, are already filled with folks from page 15-45 of the Rempel Book.
“I guess that’s the last time I have a Rempel pre-sale,” said Rempel. “We’ve got to let the Friesens have a chance at tickets, too.”
Rempel says he’s really hoping he can expand the audience.
“It gets a little awkward singing Make You Mine,” said Rempel, “when all it is is just cousins in the audience.”
Tickets for High Valley’s upcoming Club Regent show are already available for any Mennonite brave enough to enter a casino.
