Mennonite Man Mistakes Huge Miriam Toews Crowd for Billy Graham Crusade

WINNIPEG, MB

Mr. David Kehler of Kleefeld was in the big city on a Costco run this afternoon when he stumbled upon a massive crowd that had gathered at Grant Park Mall.

“Look at all those people,” said Kehler. “Is Billy Graham in town or what yet?”

Kehler squeezed into the crowd at just before 7 pm when author Miriam Toews took the stage.

“A woman behind a microphone? It doesn’t give such,” said Kehler. “I had heard Billy Graham was getting a little liberal, but this is too much!”

After an hour or so, Mr. Kehler was utterly disgusted that there was so much attention being given to a book … that wasn’t even the Bible.

“I guess I’ll buy a copy, but only because I like that John Toews fellow,” said Kehler. “I had no idea he played hockey and also hosted book launches.”

Kehler was disappointed that Billy Graham never showed up, but was so moved by the evening’s proceedings that he even went up to the front when Miriam Toews did the altar call.
