AIRDRIE, AB
Area man Jeremy Goerzen, 41, slowed way down on Highway 2 near Balzac this week as he saw what he believed was a cop approaching in the distance.
“Oh, jeez, better ease off the gas there a bit, eh, bud,” said Goerzen to himself. “Don’t want to get a ticket, now do I.”
However, as the car approached, Goerzen soon began to have his doubts.
“Wait a minute. Are those lights or just …” wondered Goerzen. “Phew, it was only a ski rack.”
Goerzen says he doesn’t regret slowing down for nothing, as it gave him the chance to appreciate the scenery for once.
“That’s one beautiful ski rack,” said Goerzen. “I bet he’s got some mighty fine kayaks to go up on there, too.”
Fifteen minutes down the road, the guy with the ski rack was arrested for impersonating a police officer.
