MILAN, ITALY
The Canadian Olympic committee just announced that the entire team, in every sport, would be made up of Friesens and Froeses.
“What can I say?” said bobsledder Peter Froese. “With a name like that, we’re just made for winter.”
Friesens and Froeses will be competing in luge, downhill skiing, curling and, of course, there will also be an entire women’s hockey team consisting of nothing but Froeses and Friesens.
“Whether Frozen Friesens or Friesen Froeses, I’m expecting big things,” said coach Jackie Froese-Friesen. “I’ve never seen such a Friesen-Froese team in my life.”
As Mennonites, the only event the Friesens and Froeses will not compete in is the biathalon, for obvious reasons.
Expectations are high for the Friesen and Froese team, though some Olympic pundits say the medal count would be even higher if they’d just stuck with Klassens.
