Winnipeg Man to Host Grey Cup Party and Cheer for Nobody

WINNIPEG, MB

Area man Myles Fehr, 71, is begrudgingly hosting a Grey Cup party this afternoon and has forbidden any of his guests from cheering for anyone.

“I hope they both lose,” said Fehr. “If it could end in a tie and they both go home disappointed, I’d be a happy man. But alas, somebody’s gotta win.”

Fehr can’t figure out who he dislikes more — his arch rival Saskatchewan or a team based in Quebec of all places.

“The only thing worse would be cheering for the Argos,” said Fehr. “I just hope my Susan makes her hamburger buns again, so at least we’ll get something good from this evening.”

Fehr sold his Grey Cup tickets just last week to a guy from Swift Current.

“I didn’t ask any questions,” said Fehr. “It’s better I don’t know who’s sitting in my seat and cheering for the Riders.”

Attendees at Fehr’s party are expected to wear neutral colours like grey or black and refrain from clapping or any audible cheering.
