CALGARY, AB
The WestEast Church in Calgary, Alberta has just announced it will be removing all reclining seats in the last 20 rows of the sanctuary.
“That’s where all the latecomers and low tithers sit,” said Pastor Dan. “Plus that Mr. Unger was always reclining right into Mrs. Koop’s lap.”
The changes have not been well received by church back benchers.
“I’ve been sneaking in late and sitting in the back for decades,” said Mr. Fehr. “This church just keeps making cut after cut. Soon they won’t even hand out free crackers and juice.”
Fehr says he’s considering joining the Lutherans if things don’t improve.
“I hear they have issues, too,” said Fehr, “but at least they’re not charging 50 bucks a service to bring a carry-on Bible.”
