Mennonite Choir to Perform at Extra-Alternative Halftime Show

FRESNO, CA

For those looking for an alternative halftime show to either Bad Bunny or Kid Rock, the Fresno Central Mennonite Church is inviting guests to listen to their choir this afternoon.

“We felt that Kid Rock was not much of an alternative to Bad Bunny,” said event organizer Lois Janzen. “I mean they both use drums, don’t they? Anyway, if you’re looking for a real alternative come on down to our church basement halftime show.”

The choir will be performing Super Bowl classics such as “Nun danket alle Gott” and “Lobe den Herren, den mächtigen König der Ehren.”

“There won’t be any dancing or pyrotechnics, but there will be black coffee in the lobby afterwards,” said Janzen. “All are welcome … so long as you bring along a Jell-o salad for the potluck.”

The new extra-alternative halftime show has already garnered significant nationwide attention.

“Even the President says he’ll be watching,” said Janzen. “I mean, of course, the President of our local MCC.”

The choir performance is officially set to last 20 minutes, although they’ve also scheduled an extra hour-and-a-half just in case the game gets boring and folks prefer to stick around and listen to hymns instead.
