Steinbacher Shocked at Lack of Honda Civics in New F1 Movie

STEINBACH, MB

Local Main Street racer Collin Dueck, 26, was really looking forward to the new F1 movie, but has come away more confused than ever.

“I’ve been a professional racer for almost a decade now,” said Dueck, who comes into Steinbach to race on Main Street every evening during the summer months, “and all I’ve ever seen are loud pickup trucks and obnoxious Honda Civics.”

Dueck says he was also shocked at the size of the crowds in the new movie.

“I don’t think those scenes were realistic at all,” said Dueck. “I’m one of the top racers in the world, and even I haven’t seen more than a couple people with nothing better to do sitting in lawn chairs on the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot.”

Dueck recommends that people skip the movie and instead just look to him for advice, explaining that it takes a lot more than just a fast Honda Civic to be one of the top ranked racers on the Steinbach circuit.

“It’s also about the noise … and the lack of skill,” said Dueck. “If you don’t take out a Main Street patio at least once a summer, I don’t know why you’re out here racing.”

A new movie about the Steinbach F1 circuit is set for release this fall, with a premier to occur in the old Extra Foods parking lot.
