Mr. Dave Thiessen, amateur plumber from Plum Coulee, has been sent into space this week to unclog the Artemis II toilet.
“When my Mary saw that on TV she said, ‘oba, Dave, that’s a job for you,’” explained Thiessen. “I’ve been clogging and unclogging toilets in the Pembina Valley for years now.”
Mr. Thiessen’s previous toilet unclogging experiences include the infamous EMMBC basement toilet emergency of 2003 and the outhouse fiasco at the Klassen gathering last summer.
“All I need is a space suit and a plunger,” said Thiessen. “Mary is also sending along some ammonia cookies for the crew.”
Thiessen will meet up with the Artemis II later this afternoon just in time to see the moon up close.
“But I’m not looking forward to that,” said Thiessen. “As a plumber, the last thing I want to see is a close up view of the moon.”
Thiessen plans to be back this weekend, with his trusty plunger ready to solve any issues that may arise at faspa this Sunday.
