MORDEN, MB
Area woman Lois Buhler, 51, was utterly amazed by the selection of top shelf Italian, French, and Spanish wine at her local LC this week.
“Wow, the ladies around here cook with the finest French wines it seems,” said Buhler. “Who knew you could make a beef stew with a $1200 Chateau Mouton Rothschild?”
The vast array of cooking wines had Buhler transfixed for quite some time.
“I’m really not used to this. Back home in Riverton, we just cook that wine in the box stuff,” said Buhler, “but it seems it’s only the best cooking wine for these Morden women.”
Buhler was especially interested in trying her hand at cooking a casserole with the Poggio alle Corti Chianti Classico.
“They sure must cook with wine a lot around here,” said Buhler. “Look at these shelves. Nothing but wine bottles as far as the eye can see. Doesn’t anyone just cook something simple like a pizza once in a while?”
Buhler had trouble making up her mind but eventually settled for a cooking wine that received an impressive 94 rating by James Suckling.
