MONTREAL, QC
Area man Collin Penner has been in Montreal for the jazz fest since Saturday, but has spent the entire time just figuring out how to get the hot water going in his hotel shower.
“Every hotel it’s different and impossible to figure out,” said Penner. “It’s like they want us to stink.”
Penner had tickets to see jazz bass legend Alain Caron, but was not yet out of the shower by the time the concert began.
“I turned it left, I turned it right. I gave it a tug. Nothing,” said Penner. “Even my wife Anne gave it a whirl, but that helped nuscht.”
The Penners struggled with the shower controls for a full 10 hours before giving up and deciding to order in some smoked meat and calling it a day.
“Missed the concert. Spent all day in the hotel,” said Penner. “Next time we’re just going to tent it. That way people don’t even expect us to smell nice.”
The Penners have given up on hotels and plan to stay with relatives the next time they’re at the Montreal jazz festival, that is if they can ever convince a cousin or to to move to Quebec.
