Carney Called Out for Utilizing ‘Plaudietsch’ Spelling

OTTAWA, ON

It’s the biggest scandal to hit the Carney government yet – spelling. In this case, Prime Minister Mark Carney sent out several memos in which he spelled everything in Plautdietsch.

“And the worst thing is he used Herman Rempel’s dictionary not Jack Thiessen’s,” said Mrs. Martens of Winkler. “You’d think a man of his stature would know that tj spellings are much preferred to kj.”

Regardless of his choice of Plautdietch dictionary, the sad truth remains that whatever he choses, very few will be able to read it.

“Even the Mennonites can’t read Plautdietsch, it seems,” said Mrs. Martens. “If he wanted to send us a message, he should have met the retired farmers at Tim Hortons like a good proper Mennonite.”

Carney says he’s heard from the Mennonites loud and clear and will type out all his memos in High German from now on. According to the reports, only the Mennonite Brethren were pleased with this change.
