Mennonite Man with Million-dollar Tractor Stakes a Stand Against “Pride”

WINKLER, MB

With Pembina Valley Pride hosting their first ever rally in Winkler this afternoon, some locals are upset, saying that even the name of the organization is a problem.

“I mean, people can live how they want to live, but do they really need to be so proud of it,” said area farmer Benny Thiessen posing in front of his brand new $1.2 million dollar John Deere. “Do what you want to do, but it doesn’t need to be so showy.”

A successful local farmer, Thiessen also recently got his hands on a 2026 Ford F-450 Platinum, which he claims is absolutely not to show off and is, instead, essential for the operation of his farm.

“And the new chandelier that Linda wanted in the kitchen? Completely necessary,” said Thiessen. “I’m just glad some of us Mennonites are sticking to our traditional values.”

Thiessen says he’s really disappointed there would be a Pride parade in Winkler and wishes everyone would be as meek and humble as he is.
