STEINBACH, MB
Always keen to celebrate Pride month, eager Steinbachers lined up on Main Street this weekend to sit in their lawn chairs and enjoy the drag show.
“Normally I come out here in the evenings, but I hear there might even be drag brunch this year,” said enthusiast Corny Reimer. “As long as they serve zoat and have an entertaining drag show, it’s fine with me.”
Reimer says he finds drag very entertaining, which is why he’s out here every evening.
“The guys in the rusty pickup trucks do the best drag,” said Reimer. “The Honda Civics are good, too, but not really my cup of tea. To each his own, I guess.”
Reimer says he considers himself very progressive, especially considering his conservative upbringing.
“We used to frown upon drag shows like this,” said Reimer, “but now even the pastor shows up to drag on occasion.”
As of press time, two young men were stopped at a red light on Main and Reimer, just waiting for the light to turn so they too could put on a drag show.
