Premier Wab Kinew Finally Visits Steinbach Just as Every Local Politician is Mysteriously Out of Town

STEINBACH, MB

There was not a single local politician available to greet Premier Wab Kinew in Steinbach this afternoon.

“I guess they all went to the lake,” said Kinew as he arrived at KR Barkman Park. “Or is it Frog Follies again this weekend? Strange.”

Kinew enjoyed his time in Steinbach, his first official visit to Manitoba’s third largest city.

“Just too bad that not a single elected official was around to chat,” said Kinew. “I’m a nice guy. I don’t know what the problem is.”

In the end, Kinew said he was so busy chatting with a lot of great people in town that he didn’t really miss the political meetings.

“Hey, if this is what Steinbach is like,” said Kinew, “I think I’ll come here more often.”
