Snow Arrives Just in Time to Ruin Halloween

WINNIPEG, MB

Thousands of Mennonites across Manitoba breathed a sigh of relief this week as a massive snowstorm has more or less ruined any chance at at decent Halloween this year.

“Oba, my children were thinking of going as Barbie or Oppenheimer,” said Mrs. Joyce Fieguth of Winnipeg. “I’m relieved to find out they’ll be going as nothing this year instead.”

As the snow continued to pile up yesterday afternoon, Mennonites gathered to pray for even more.

“The days before Halloween are our mist important prayer meetings,” said Mrs. Fieguth. “The only other time we pray this earnestly for favourable weather is during planting season.”

Meanwhile, folks at the GC church in town were praying for a quick melt.
