Liberals Just One Mennonite MP Away from Majority Government

OTTAWA, ON

With several defections in the last few weeks, the Liberals are now just one Mennonite MP away from a majority government and, of course, they’re looking for MPs who might be receptive to crossing the floor.

“Obviously Ted Falk is at the top of our list,” said Prime Minister Mark Carney. “Or how about Dave Epp, Chris Warkentin, or Brad Redekopp. I know they’re all so close to liberals already that they might as well join us.”

But what will it take to get one of these Mennonites to join?

“I hear they can be won over with a tray of rhubarb plautz and a cabinet position,” said Carney. “The cabinet position is no problem, but who’s going to make all that plautz? Dominic LeBlanc?”

So far every Mennonite MP on the Conservative side has denied rumours they’re thinking of making a change.

“I know us Mennonites are known for our church splits,” said Falk, “but joining the Liberals? Now that’s a bridge too far.”
