Friesen-Friesen Engagement Tops the News in Mennonite Town

HERBERT, SK

In the small town of Herbert, Saskatchewan, there was no bigger news this week than the engagement of local librarian Taylor Friesen and lentil farmer Travis Friesen.

“Everyone’s posting about the engagement all over Hebert social media,” said local woman and mother-of-the-bride Diane Friesen. “Quite frankly, I haven’t seen anything else on my Facebook feed.”

Diane’s post of Taylor and Travis’s engagement pics drew more than a dozen likes, the largest number ever received for one of Diane’s posts.

“We had them pose in front of the Herbert CPR Train Station Museum, so that was bound to get a lot of attention,” said Diane. “Our maybe it was my photos of rhubarb platz I made for the engagement party. Who knows?”

The wedding will take place this fall at the Living Faith church in Herbert. Attendees are reminded not to wear sequinned romper or football jerseys.
