ALTONA, MB
Mrs. Dorothy Wiebe of Altona was the last senior in town not to get sprayed with a water gun this week and has been crowned winner of Senior Assassin 2026.
“I knew they couldn’t get me in church,” said Mrs. Wiebe. “Or at the quilting bee. So I just wore my water wings and hoped for the best at the Co-op.”
Mrs. Wiebe carried a super soaker with her at all times and sprayed anyone who looked like a grandma or a graduating high school student.
“I wasn’t going to discriminate about what kind of senior you were,” said Mrs. Wiebe. “If you’re in the Old Folks Home or a teenager between the ages of 16 to 18, you’re gonna get soaked.”
Many local teenagers underestimated Mrs. Wiebe and it cost them dearly.
“You’re in the middle of a friendly game of Uno with Grandma and then Bam! she gets you right between the eyes.”
In honour of her accomplishments, Grandma Wiebe will also be giving the Valedictory address at WC Miller Collegiate this June.
