SCHANZENBLUM, SK
Schazenblum’s favourite former dairy farm/wedding venue is now offering up to ten percent off rentals if you’re willing to get married during manure spreading season.
“Come one come all to Schanzenblum Acres,” said property owner Diane Siemens. “It may smell a little earthy, but that just adds to the authenticity of the rural wedding experience.”
Siemens says she’ll even throw in a bouquet of roses, which she instructs brides to hold right up next to their noses so they mask the aroma of all the manure in the air.
“Hey and if you’re willing to spend an afternoon helping out on the spreader, we’ll even up the discount to 20%,” says Siemens. “I think there’s a real bargain here.”
Weekends quickly got all booked up as word spread about the discount.
“April and May are prime season,” says Siemens, “at least for folks who don’t mind a bit of dung on the nose,”
Meanwhile several couples cancelled after discovering “manure spreading season” wasn’t just a euphemism for the recent election campaign.
