Area woman Theresa Bueckert decided she’d change things up a little and add raisins to her bun dough this week. The results were, as expected, disastrous.
“Oba, what was I thinking,” said Mrs. Bueckert, raising clinging to her bottom lip. “Why would anyone think, you know what this cinnamon bun needs is a shrivelled up grape?”
Bueckert was so repulsed by the experiment, that she is petitioning the Altona town council to ban raisins in cinnamon buns.
“Or any buns for that matter,” said Bueckert. “Who could possibly look at a raisin and think it adds anything of value or a recipe.”
Authorities discovered a huge pile of raisins that had been picked out of Mrs. Bueckert’s cinnamon buns after faspa last week.
Altona officials voted 4-3 to ban raisins in all baked goods, although raisin buns will be grandfathered in and permitted only at funerals.
