Mennonite Man Gifts Wife Wrong Kind Of Dutch Oven

WINKLER, MB

Area man Mark Bueckert was pretty excited that his wife Linda had asked for a “dutch oven” for their anniversary this year. However, Linda did not receive the kind of dutch oven she was expecting.

“And I don’t mean I got a Le Creuset when I wanted a Staub,” said Linda. “I mean he held the covers over me and let one rip. What kind of anniversary present is that?”

Mark felt it was the most economical dutch oven on the market, some 4 to 500 dollars cheaper than the cast iron variety.

“All it cost me was a can of beans,” said Mark, “and a night on the couch.”

To make up for his error, Mark promises to buy Linda a real dutch oven and take her for a fancy meal at Chicken Chef later this week.
