Mennonite Church Under Fire After Releasing Heavily Redacted Church Bulletin

EPSTEINBACH, MB

A local Mennonite church is facing a lot of criticism this week after the Sunday bulletin was released in a heavily redacted form.

“All 4 pages were blacked out,” said Mrs. Loewen, who was ushering this Sunday. “Even both sides of the insert. I don’t know what they’re trying to hide.”

According to Loewen, the only text left unredacted was the address to send e-transfer donations.

“Otherwise it was all censored,” said Mrs. Loewen. “It felt a little awkward handing them out, but I had a job to do.”

The redacted bulletin created quite the chaos in the service as no one had a clue what the scripture verse was or just what was going to happen next in the order of service.

“Mr. Plett was standing up to sing right in the middle of the prayer,” said Mrs. Loewen. “And Mrs. Dueck was trying to take communion during the responsive reading. It was absolute mayhem.”

The church secretary Pam Bueckert is facing criticism for this week’s bulletin, but everyone knows she’s just doing whatever the pastor tells her.
