James Talarico Article Pulled from the Unger Review

SEMINOLE, TEXAS

The renowned Mennonite satire site The Unger Review had intended to run an article schputting Texas political candidate James Talarico, but had to pull it at the last minute for unknown reasons.

“He’s from Texas. So naturally I was going to write about how he’d learned some Plautdietsch down in Seminole and all that,” said Unger. “Maybe I’d even claim he was caught stealing a ring of farmer sausage. Who knows?”

But it was not meant to be, as lawmakers claimed that if Unger had made fun of Talarico, he’d have to make fun of every other politician in the United States, too.

“And that was just too much to ask,” said Unger. “I mean what kind of joke could I even have made about Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer?”

Unger says he was even cooking up some hilarious James Talarico measles jokes, but those, too, had to be deleted.
