Danielle Smith Adds Canadian Constitution to Alberta’s Banned Books List

EDMONTON, AB

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith held a massive bonfire outside the provincial legislative building this week to destroy any remaining copies of the Constitution of Canada.

“Had my goons find every copy they could,” said Smith. “The last thing we want is our young people learning to respect the rule of law.”

Smith is demanding that all her MLAs participate in the Constitution burning.

“Or at least use it as toilet paper,” said Smith. “This thing is even worse than The Handmaid’s Tale. Not that I’ve read either of them.”

Now that the Constitution no longer applies in Alberta, she is expecting things to run much more smoothly from now on.

“I know some people frown on forcing people to work against their will,” said Smith. “But around here we just call that good governance.”

While Alberta teachers go back to work, the province’s MLAs have voted to give themselves a massive raise and a really long vacation.
